Toronto, Ontario, Canada, December 7, 2022 – Beacon is pleased to announce the completion of another successful M&A mandate. Acting as the exclusive sell-side M&A advisor, Beacon assisted with selling one of the leading Toronto-based installers and distributors of automated commercial door systems.
Engaged by the business owners in early 2022, the Beacon team conducted a thorough financial analysis of the operations and completed a business valuation establishing an anticipated purchase price for the business. Subsequently, after confidentially exposing the opportunity to over 50 potential buyers, the team generated three Letters of Intent from interested parties, culminating in an accepted conditional offer in August 2022.
After an extensive and thorough due diligence period facilitated by the Beacon Transactions Team, the deal was completed in late November 2022. The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) provided financing for the purchase. The transaction was completed as a share purchase with a total consideration of 97% of Beacon’s mid-point business valuation.
About Beacon’s client – The company installs and resells automatic swing doors with barrier-free accessibility, automatic sliding doors, high-traffic pedestrian door automation systems, and swinging door systems. In addition, the business also offers services to repair and maintain the automatic door performance. The business employs AAADM (American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers) certified technicians to ensure a safe installment and high-quality services for clients.
About the Purchaser – The purchaser is a private investor with significant Private Equity experience who had partnered with an experienced operator to run the business’s day-to-day operations.
