Transaction Completion: Niche B2B Food Distribution Business
Beacon Business Brokerage is pleased to announce the completion of a transaction in the food distribution industry by a private purchaser. The business is one of the leading distributors of food products and equipment, with clients that include major hotel and motel chains, restaurants, cafeterias, and other institutions in the hospitality and foodservice industry. Beacon acted as a sell-side adviser during the transaction, confidentially marketing the opportunity and negotiating the transaction parameters between the parties.
This was a divestiture of a business interest owned by two serial entrepreneurs that has been in operation and steadily growing since its inception in 2014. The owners approached Beacon Brokerage in June of 2017, expressing their interest in finding the right party to take over and continue growing the business. After a confidential marketing process of approximately 2 months, the seller received a letter of intent from an interested party and a conditional Asset Purchase Agreement was signed in October of 2017. Upon completion of an extensive Due Diligence process, which included a transfer of the distribution rights for Canada to the new purchaser, the transaction was finalized on December 7, 2017.
