Beacon Capital Advisors secures $6.5M term loan for specialized seating systems business acquisition 

Beacon Capital Advisors Inc., an affiliate of Beacon Mergers & Acquisitions, is pleased to have acted as the debt advisor on the acquisition financing for a supplier of specialized seating systems and securing total term loan facilities of $6,540,000 for the client.

The Mandate

Beacon was initially approached by clients looking to understand the value of the potential business acquisition in the specialized seating industry. The business valuations team at the firm completed a valuation which served as the basis for negotiating a conditional offer with the owners of the business. Upon the two parties agreeing on the terms of transactions, the debt advisory team at Beacon got involved to secure the necessary acquisition financing for the deal. 

The Work 

As part of its debt advisory mandate, Beacon prepared a summary of information on the acquisition, combined with an overview of the client’s experience and capabilities, and financial projections for the future business performance, and approached multiple lenders with experience and expertise in acquisition financing within the industry. 

The Outcome

The team secured multiple term sheets from Class A lenders and negotiated the terms of the financing with one of Canada’s premier financial institutions specializing in growth and equity capital. While the terms of the transaction remain confidential, the total term loan facilities secured totalled $6,540,000, which represented a significant portion of the overall purchase price, recognizing the confidence the financial institution placed on the business, its new ownership, and growth potential.
