Beacon Assists 3PL Provider in Divestiture of Private Label Consumer Electronics Brands

Toronto, Ontario, Canada, October 6, 2021 – Beacon is pleased to announce the successful completion of its sell-side divestiture mandate for a national 3PL client. Beacon acted as the advisor in the divestiture of the company’s portfolio of private label mobile accessories business. The company, a full-service 3rd Party Logistics Provider, had previously acquired, with Beacon’s assistance, a national distribution and wholesale business. As part of the transaction, the company had also acquired a diverse line-up of private label accessories brands.

Having worked with the client on its previous acquisition mandate, Beacon had an existing relationship with the company and an understanding of the product portfolio under consideration. Beacon’s deal team worked closely with the company’s management to compile deliverables and market this niche opportunity to pre-qualified buyers. After an extensive confidential outreach effort and multiple discussions with pre-qualified parties, Beacon was able to identify the right purchaser with relevant experience in marketing and brand development. The buyer had existing relationships with distributors in North America and the ability to invest in product development, while utilizing Beacon client’s 3PL capabilities for further expansion.

Beacon supported the transaction through the sell-side M&A cycle and due diligence and was actively involved from the initial business valuation to the offer negotiations. The transaction was finalized in September 2021 as an asset sale.
